I have been working with teens for over 17 years. I was the youth pastor at a church in Nova Scotia for 14 years and my family and I served as missionaries on the island of Tobago in the Caribbean for two and a half years working with youth leaders.

I am on staff at Apostolic Youth Ministries International (amyi.ca) in Calgary. This is the second year of the Equipping seminars.

I have a passion for youth ministry and the leaders that serve our teens. I have an amazing wife, Michelle, who puts up with me and two kids, Danica, 9 and Craig, 7 (they are very cool kids). I enjoy ice cream, pizza, sports and going on dates with my wife.

Seminar topics at all locations:

“Missional Leadership”

“Three Challenges Teens Face” - 2 Sessions

“Missional Youth Ministry”

“Displaced”

I am originally from Starbuck, MB and I think that it was in my heart from the start to be near so many Starbuckšs here on the North Shore. I later moved to Saskatchewan and gave my heart to God and moved on to bible school. I took an internship at Lynn Valley Full Gospel in North Vancouver and that is where I have found my passion, kids!

I've been here for seven years as the Director of Children's Ministry and have had many learning experiences which have brought out the teacher in me. I love teaching but I love training teachers even more. The more equipped we are the more kids we can reach.

Seminar Topics:

• “Leadership Styles Of Your Leaders” -
(understanding who is volunteering for you)

• “Development Stages of Kids” - (what they are cable of)
• “Making A Difference - (influencing kids)
• “Reaching your Community” - (outreach)
• “Leading A Child To Christ” - (salvation)
• “Qualities Of A Healthy Children's Ministry”

Melonie is presenting in Surrey, BC on March 28th and in Edmonton, AB on May 9th, 2009.
